My fit journey 2.0

IMG_9691Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with where I am in my fit journey. I live a healthy life, I prefer to eat clean without added sugar and I have a good understanding of my protein, carbs and fat intake. I found a nice balance between long distance runs and strength training in the gym. Sometimes a six pack shows up, sometimes not. But overall, I achieved my goals. But now, it gets a bit boring…

My fit journey started almost 10 years ago when I stopped eating snacks or sugar for a year and I started to run. I lost 15 kilos and felt better than ever. In the following years I ran 5 times per week and did competitions. This was the time I discovered the impact of food on my body and performance. Around 3 years ago my interest in boot-camp and strength training started to grow. I joined a boot-camp team and a gym. I loved boot-camp  but the gym was still a challenge, I had no clue what to do! When I moved to Dublin I started to train with a personal trainer. He helped me to do basic strength training exercises like dead-lifts and squats. I loved every session! The results were amazing (and they still are). At the moment I do 3 strength training sessions per week and I run 2-3 times per week. I try to do some Hitt training when I’m at the gym as well. But as mentioned, I reached my goals and I need a new challenges or a new goal. I don’t have the ambition (yet) to run a marathon and I love the gym too much to focus mainly on running. And this is why I start my fit journey 2.0!

A friend of mine is a personal trainer and she is going to help me with my new fit journey. I don’t know yet what it will look like but I want to focus on strength and muscle growth. I am meeting my friend tonight and I will take you with me on my new journey. It is very exciting to learn from her and see what my new goals look like!

Lets start fit journey 2.0!
